List Of Brands That DO Test On Animals.

An extensive list of beauty, hair and body care brands that test on animals compiled all in one for you!

A while ago I wrote a post all about the fantastic brands that don’t test on animals, this means that they do not supply products that have been tested on animals nor have the ingredients, and they do not sell or make their products in countries that by law mean you have to test. More and more brands are changing their ethos’ and are ending all of the inhumane testing, but unfortunately lots of brands still do test.

These brands need to be taught that we are living in the 21st century and this practice is completely barbaric. But the only way that they will learn is if we stop buying from them, so I have compiled a thorough list of brands that test. Some brands that are listed state that they do not test on animals, but they are owned by parent company’s that do test. This in turn means that some of their profit goes towards supporting animal testers. They are on the list if..

  • the ingredients in any of their products have been tested on animals.
  • they sell of make products in country’s that require by law for products to be tested.
  • if they use any third parties to test on their behalf.

Parent Company’s;

Parent company’s confuse the hell out of almost everybody, so try not to freak out. Okay… so they are these big company’s that own a whole hog of other company’s. The company’s that they own may not necessarily test on animals, so your probably wondering what the big problem is? Well like I said above, if you buy a new highlighter from a brand that has never tested on animal but is owned by a parent company that does test, then in the end you are supporting their acts as a certain profit goes to them. Some of the parent company’s are down below.

  • Bausch + Lomb
  • Blue Buffalo
  • Colgate
  • GlaxoSmithKline
  • Johnson and Johnson
  • L’oreal
  • Procter and Gamble
  • Unilever

That list is painfully long and I’m sure it doesn’t even cover all of the brands that do test. The reason that so many brands test on animals and try to cover it up using third party’s is because the vast majority of the public do still buy from them even though we know that they do this. To really make a difference, we need to change our shopping habits and only buy cruelty free, you can start slowly or do it all at once. You can do it however you want, you just need to make the change. If you need any help head over to my cruelty free series, for advice and reviews. I made the transition over 6 months ago and I feel much better for it, it was hard at first being able to know who tests and who doesn’t and it still can be, but before you purchase just have a quick look on the internet to find out.

So let me know which brands you were surprised by in the comments, and are you already cruelty free? Head over to my Pinterest to see more and make sure to subscribe to see more beauty related posts. If you would like to contact me personally click the e-mail button down below.
